Dial-Up:

When I try to connect to the internet, I get a 'No Dial Tone' or 'Error Code 680' message.

Check your phone line and phone cord. The phone line may be disconnected or someone else may be using the line. You will sometimes also get this message if you have voicemail on the same line. The computer wants to hear a dial tone immediately. Ideally, plug a phone into the same cord as the one that goes into the computer.

I get an 'Error Code 645 or 734' when I try to connect.

This means that the password for your internet connection is not correct. Try clearing out the old password and retyping it.

How do use Imail (mail.dcwis.com) to check my mail and delete messages?

You can check your dcwis email from any computer that has internet access. It's also a good way to resolve issues that you might have with downloading your messages.

When I check my email it says 'Server msg.dcwis.com Cannot Be Found'.

Usually this message indicates that you are no longer connected to the internet.
If you are (ie, you are reading this page while attempting to check your email) double check your mail server settings.

I keep getting the same emails over and over again!

There are two common reasons for this.
1. You aren't letting your mail download finish. If you cancel it or it fails because it's taking forever; Go to Mail.DCWIS.com, login and delete/download the offending message(s)

2. Or, you are leaving the messages on the server by default. In Outlook Express, under the Tools button, go to Accounts, and then the Mail tab. Click on the msg.dcwis.com account and click Properties on the right. On the Advanced tab, on the bottom under Delivery, there is a check box for Leave a copy of messages on server.
This should not be checked.

When people try and email me, they get rejected with a 'User has exceeded their space limit' message.

This happens when your email account is full. Users have a 10MB limit, and if it is exceeded, they cannot receive any more mail. The solution is to go to Mail.DCWIS.com, login, and delete messages to clear space.

I never receive attachments.

This behavior can be changed by Microsoft updates, for security reasons. Go to the Tools button, then click on Options, and then the Security Tab, there is a check box for Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus. Do not uncheck this button is you do not have an antivirus program (like Norton Antivirus or F-prot).
You are asking for a virus otherwise.

I receive mail, but I can't send.

If you connect to the internet with something besides RickNet (ie AOL, Charter or whoever), they are responsible for sending email. We just deliver your DCWIS email. This means that your recieving server should be msg.dcwis.com but your sending server should be something else.
